Our Process
Phase One: Pre-Planning
Initial free consultation:
We want to make sure we understand your wants and needs before any work begins. Initially we will come out to the site of the project to discuss with you what you would like to do and the budget you have in mind. In addition to our meeting, we will take some measurements and pictures to help us develop a preliminary estimate for you desired project.
Design contract:
Projects with a high degree of design complexity require design drawings done by either a professional architect, draftsman, or designer. This may be required before an official estimate can be finalized. If this is not needed, we will jump right into the next step of the process.
Presentation of preliminary estimate:
After gathering and analyzing all of the information, we will meet in-person again to present our preliminary estimate. The estimate will include a breakdown of all costs involved in your project, but will not include any building permit, design, or drafting fees. If at this point you decide to proceed we will draft a contact.
Sign contract:
Before we begin the project, we will both sign the final, written, contract and collect a 25% down payment. After the contract is singed, we will apply for the required building permits and create a schedule.
Phase Two: Construction Begins
Start building:
We will first prep your home for the construction project by sealing off the areas in which we will be working. This ensures that the rest of your home will not be affected by any the construction.
Progress consultations:
We want you to feel comfortable with Ark Construction and the project, so we will be sure to keep you informed of who will be working on your house and when they will be there. We will be sure to constantly communicate updates through progress reports, not only on what is finished, but what still needs to be done.
Final tasks:
After completing the project and all inspections are passed, we will compile a punch list of the remaining finishing touches to make the project just right. Once everything is done to your satisfaction, you will be billed the remaining balance due on the project.
